Could anyone here tell me how to build a stand for a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft tank and how much it will be (in pounds please, I live in England so diff prices anyways). If no-one knows how could they direct me to a shop.

Thanks :D :D

edit: oooooops wrong forum, could someone move this for me?

http://garf.org/ Diy section on the left. A plain stand, no finishing or plywood wrap might set you back $20 or $30 U.S. I built a finished stand & hood a few years back for a 65 gallon, 18" x 36" base, for around $150.

Im just waiting to glue and finish the stand I made for my 4ft tank, looking at about £30 for all the bits and bobs for a real basic stand. Im going to do a quick guide once its all done if you can wait a few weeks. cost from stores are around £100-300 range i would say.

I think this is a bad peice of advice read up on building them and go ahead and do it. Just think of the money you will save and you can finish the stand however it suits you.

ChrisC is right, you don't want to build your own stand, you sure don't want to save money while ending up with something like this;

I think its one of thoses things that is a matter of own opinion some people would say that your tank is nice even though you argue that it isn't i just think that its better to save all that money and spend it somwhere else.

tolak, nice DIY stand. Looking at it, it looks like you used almost entirely off-the-shelf trim items, plus maybe only one router bit.

If you did it without a router, I'd say excellent improvisation.
