I have a ten gallon filtered tank:) It has black sand as the substrate, with many fake plants and a few rocks as hidding spots. I also have an air pump, kind of excited about it, because its new! haha, the water levels are in check, but the temp is a bit high, 80F 26.5C. I am trying to cool it down with fans and it is slowly working:) just this summer heat! haha anyways on with the tank inhabitants...

-1 HM male betta
-3 cory cats (albino julie panda)
-2 ghost shrimp

I am looking into another type of fish for the tank, so I was thinking....

-1 peppered cory
-3 pangio kuhlii
-5 neon or cardinal tetras

Of course not all of them, but would would you ad? The corys are not SUPEr close knit but they do school and play with eachother. I would like to go with the pepper and neons, but would that be to much? The filter is 100gph and is recomded for a twenty (the betta is fine in the current  ) The loaches would be awsome, but I don't know if the tank is larghe enough?

And if by Christmas I got a twenty would it have enough room for all of those?

if you got a twenty by christmas that would be a great stocking.

many people say that neons are very fin nippy, not a good mix for bettas.

it is also suggested to have 6 cories, i think of one type, maybe someone else will comment on that. but the types of cories you have and want get a little big for a 10 gal, pygmy cories are much better for a tank that size.

i think the khulli's would be ok. maybe hold off on another cory if you get them.

just my thoughts, maybe somone with a better opinion will come along.

Non, no thank you for your input:) Actually I just discovered my betta had fin rot AND ich now I have to treat the tank, he is in a different tank now, I think i might leave him out no... for good:/

from what I am aware tetra are def out if Betta makes it back to the tank

I have a mix of Panda and Albino cory in my tank and no issues with them not mixing

If Betta does not make a return you could have a coy tank with a Gourami ?

really need to know tank sizes and shape to comment on fish you could have

Okay I have a baisc normal ten gallon, rectangular tank. It is longer not taller. I don't really like Gourmis, shouldi just get another betta?

it would be a great set up for a 20 gal.
but pushing it for a 10. the cory's prefer more room, and adding the khuli's would crowd the bottom of a 10 pretty much

i'm sure your anxious, but maybe just hold off till christmas for more fish..unless you want to replace the betta, no problem there. but then you could get a bigger tank, and more fish all at once.
and if you're going for a bunch of bottom dwellers go for the 20 Long, i think it's 30" long instead of 24. that way they have more room on the bottom.

people say that cardinals can go in a 10 gallong..but i don't really see how. they are really active, and like to be in groups of 6 or more. i had some in my 30 gallon and they swam from one side to the other constantly, i think they would be terribly cramped in a 10 gallon.

good luck with the betta, sorry to hear about that..:-(..wait awhile to see if everyone else is healthy in the tank before you add anything.
