Ok people, I need some advice on the best way to set up my spraybar
The first image is my current set up, spraybar on the left, intake is the green dot on the right (top down view) with the spraybar just below the surface. I find with this set up, I get a little eddy in the front right corner which pushes all the sand out leaving a depression (and possibly whisks the sand up into the intake??
Can anyone think of a way to remedy this?
The second picture is the position im considering changing to, will this be any better / worse / the same?

I've got the second one... thats my set up.

I haven't had any problems at all. Give it a trial run and see how it goes if your worried.

Hi,

I've got the first one - have been having problems with the sand at the intake end being blown over to the left (ending up with a bare-bottomed tank) - i've directed the spray bar down at an angle...kinda towards the bottom middle to right of the tank so it's not hitting the glass on the other side...and this seems to of worked.

The theory is behind the in and out is to have the spray bar and the inlet on the same side so that it improves circulation in the tank.

It should then push the water along the top down and then back toward the inlet.

Tetratecs demo and diagrams has the spraybar on the back left with the inlet in the back left corner.

Position the spraybar on the back and point the spraybar slightly upward (only the tiniest bit) and have it approx 1 inch below the surface it should avoid any substrate movement and also move any poop from the front to the back of the tank.
