Hi all.

Got my new tank up and running with my Eheim 2213. At the moment I'm just using the spraybar to oxygenate and agitate the water. Will this be enough oxygen for them? It seems to be chucking out a fair amount, but I just wondered if people would recommend using an airstone as well.

Thanks.

\i never use an airstone at all even when medicating the tank I simply push the spray bar up. but i do like a lot of turnover in my tank, i tend to aim for 10x turnover so lots of water agitation.

air stones/pumps do very little to oxygenate the water. if you watch the bubbles they really don't reduce in size significantly by the time they reach the surface, they go too quickly to actually give off much oxygen.

what best gets oxygen into the water is surface agitation, anything that makes waves/ripples on the waters surface is getting oxygen into the water so just angle the spraybar so it makes some ripples and that will be fine. :good:
