my friend recently found a spotted salamander and took it home with him.he is now going to florida and i am taking care of this sally.i have frozen meal worms but will it eat them?
it is 7 inches from head to tail

i used to hav a salamander. one thing you could do is get some crickets. you can probably get them at a local pet store and they're real cheap
 
My sals fav food is small slugs they just go crazy for them,they also eat earth worms,small crix,small locusts although not many of mine will eat meal worms
 
It's also important to note that spotted salamanders (most salamanders actually) are temperate creatures and do best at temperatures below or 70F. Also these salamanders are fossorial and do well with a deep substrate so that they can burrow.
 
i havent seen him eat yet but i got 3 small crikets,3 small garden worms,and 3 frozen meal worms and tried them.havent SEEN it eat yet :/ :/ :/ :( :no:
