Hi, I have 1 spotted raphael catfish. Now that I have a 55 gallon tank, he will go in there. According to our fish index, they like to be kept in groups of at least 3. The entry in the fish index was by CFC, here is the link.

I now have room to add a couple more, if I can find them. I was trying to verify that they like to be in groups of 3 or more, and I can't find much information anywhere else.

Here is one site that says "They are a peaceful solitary fish..."

AH!!, I just found another site that says:
"Again this catfish prefers its own company so the aquarist should ideally keep them in small groups of between 4 and 6 specimens."

OK, I answered my own question, but I'll still post this post in case others needed to know. Also, if anyone else has any other references or experience, please add, thanks.

I've had them both alone and with 2 together and they seemed more active when there was more than one. However as I'm sure you're already aware they're never very active. I just saw mine more when there was two of them, probably more secure.
