I will loyally contemplate every move in baseball or hockey, with a great interest in European football leagues, but I know what I'm doing! I'm watching a soap opera.

Yes indeed. Most professional "sports" would be more accurately described as industries these days.
 
The fired coach or GM becomes the next team's touted savior- which always amuses me. Unless he used up ALL his mistakes at the previous job...
