I came home today to find my trio of Splash tetra have laid eggs above the water line of their tank. Will the fry be ok in the tank with the parents or are they likely to be eaten? The splash tetra are the only fish in that particular tank.
Any other suggestions and info on raising these would be greatly appreciated

You'll need to leave at least the males in until the eggs hatch, as he'll need to keep the eggs wet (hence the 'splashing' name

.

Once the fry drop into the water, the parents will eat them, so you'd need to take them out then, if possible.

They'll need very small foods to start with; they're too small even to take BBS or microworms, IME, so you'll need to think about that.

Have you got live plants in the tank?

Oh, I forgot to say; congratulations!

Yes plenty of live plants. I also have a good culture of banana worms to start them off. I thought the fry dropped into the water as soon as they hatched??? Or is there a window of oppurtunity to get them out before they fall??
I have been reading up on artificially hatching them. Would they rot if they were kept in water? Or could I scrape them off the side of the tank into a hatchery?

Yes, the fry do drop into the water as soon as they hatch, but the adults aren't very predatory, and as you have plenty of plants, you should be fine; they'll have loads of places to hide and will find some microscopic foods there as well.

I honestly wouldn't try and hatch them artificially (it's more fun to let fish breed naturally, IMO!), but you could if you wanted to; the eggs shouldn't rot as long as the water is kept fairly shallow.

Feeding the newborn fry is always the hardest thing with these species, IME
