I have heard that there are 2 species of angels and that the ones we normally see are the most popular ones to be imported and they just have alot of color variations and that the other is rarely sold in the states and i was wondering what the scientific name of the second is

There's three, that I know of - Pterophyllum scalare, P. altum, and P. leopoldi. Scalare are the common angelfish (edit: Including all the colors and varieties you commonly see), altums usually have the common name altum angel or deep angel, and are taller than common angelfish. I've only once seen a leopoldi on a price list, and never in person, but they're quite a bit smaller than either other species.
