If i am trying to get fish to breed how should i do it. I plan to breed some sterlets. I have four but dont know the genders. If i put them in a tank what conditions does it have to be under and do they need to be put in in pairs. Any useful tips will help.

Sorry to tell you this Ghosty but they only breed when they reach 20" plus and like your uncles pond it needs to be very large.

what sort of age are they when they reach that size

5 years if you are lucky but Sterlets are slow growers so it is likely to take 10 years to reach a good breeding size.

Well Macky ghosty came from captive breed fish in a 20,000 gallon. But that is the first ever incident I have heard of captive breed Sterlets.
