SPAWNING QUESTION??

i have put my female in a jar in the males tan!! they are goin crazy over each other but the male has not started to make a bubble nest yet!!! do you think i should just release the female in the tank and see if he builds one then or will he tear her to shreds??

depends. I'd take her out then try putting her in again in a days time. Do that a few times and see how you get on. You really need a nest started before releasing to be honest.

u actually dont needd a bubble nest ive had a spawn w/o one and the fry hatched w/o a problem

because they are both going crazy and the female has really vivid vertical stripes!!!! so shall i give it a go??? i think its woth a try

about an hour ago i put some bubblewrap under the styrofoam cup and i just checked and there are about 20 bubbles under it!!! they are not all in 1 lump they are spread accross a couple of inches square!!! Could this still be the start of a bubblenest???

if you really want to breed the bettas (not the greatest idea) you NEED to know what you are doing. You could easily have a hundred babies that need rehoming. Before you do anything please think on it.

If you still want to do this and you have enough emty cycled tanks, wait until a REAL bubblenest is made before releasing her. It's safer that way.

yes i am prepared and know what i am doing!!!!!!

there are now about 50 bubbles!!!!

i have betta baracks with 50 tanks plus 4 10 gall tanks each divided into 10 so YES i am prepared!!!!!

Sounds like he just needed something properly floating for him to nest. Give him time to finish it before you release her, or he could peck at her when she comes over to tell her that he's not ready yet.

do you think it is a bubblenest because i imagined that it would start all clumped together but it started all over the place and is now coming together as it gets bigger???

my male has built a bubblenest but when i let the female out of the glass jar she does not go near the nest or show any interest yet she is showing vertical stripes!

just went to check on the nest and it is growing very quickly!!!!!!!!!!
