I have since noticed one of the larger fish (clearly a female, possibly the one being chased here) has also changed colour of the stripe! Looks very slightly different from the side, but when viewed from above there is a golden / orange hue to the stripe!

are they difficult to breed? any special requirements?
im looking to breed something in the near future and seeing as i have 10 of them in my tank ATM :shifty:

hmm, first of all congratulations,

my angelfish spawned erlier this week but to no avail,

i wasnt hoping for much with it being in a community tank, and they had spawned on the filter intake pipe, so i couldnt remove them

but i have a question, i have 3 black widow skirt tetra in my 40 gallon tank, and there are two which lately are swimming side-by-side, so close in face that they are pretty much touching side by side, i was wandering if these could be a male and female pair?

Not sure mate. My BPT's swim side by side / flair and most of the time it is a territorial thing but then males females do this. However I would say the difference it that when territorial they tend to stay in the same area but when courting they tend to move around the tank a lot!
