How long does it take for corals in general to spawn?

To be specific Xenia, Zoos, Peach (grass and hair), and Leather Hands?

Well, none of them do. Leathers reproduce by dropping young, ie fission. Zoas and Zenia generally dont spawn, they just grow across most surfaces, including other coral. I have no idea what "peach (grass and hair) is. Got a species name?

As for how long, nobody has really studied captive spawning behaviour in aquaria that I know of. Its quite in-frequent. You need to provide perfect water conditions for most corals to spawn, or the opposite, they need to feel heavily stressed, and on the verge of death and try to "reproduce". Some people, lucky enough to have a coral spawn, sometimes note the relative period of sawnig to a full moon.

I have had my Dunc's spawn. It was amazing. Some people believe spawning behaviour in a closed small system like our tanks is detrimental to water stats. So some people remove moonlights, to prevent moon related spawning, and some people time their lights into the lunar cycle to try and encourage spawning! :S LOL!

The grass is Briareum. Suposidly they will grow and expand and cover rock that it is attached too. The LFS said it will spread like wildfire...

Ah, Star Polyps. Yeah, kept under most conditions, they wil grow very quickly. Som SPS keepers regard them as pests they are that prolifick. :good:
