Those little maggot-like things that are in your old pasta and cereal. Easy to culture and I’ve found most fish will eat them after the initial hesitation or refusal. Some hate them, and some love them, but either way it’s worth a try. I haven’t found any negative effect with feeding my bettas weevils yet, and a friend’s fish ate them and never had any problems either.
 
Weevil eggs are in a lot of oat and grain products, so it's not unusual to find adults hatched out in your cereal if you don't finish off the box within a month or so :crazy:
I'm very paranoid about them and always check my cereal before eating it :lol:

Anyway... I have these little black gnat things that have set up their own culture in my white worms. I supposed I may have made the air holes a little too big -_- . Some of my bettas really like them though, which is good since I have a constant supply now. Any flying insect that enters my room ends up either as betta lunch or floating drowned in one of their bowls.
