Something Growing On This Mystery Snail

Hello everyone, i'm not sure if this is something that needs to be attended to immediately but I am looking for some advise on my friends tank.
 
She has a Mystery Snail and he's got some type of growth on its side. 
 
Now it either looks like "eggs" or "poop" but i'm really not sure as i've never seen this before. 
 
Is this cause for worry?

Most likely poop, Mystery (apple) snails lay their eggs out of the water.

could well be poop, give it a few days and it may disappear, if you start to see that large lump appear on the side of the tank usually above the water line then it may well be eggs
