Is it common plec? I would take him if he won't grow any bigger and there was some way of getting him to London (no car)
Aren't fish kept in small tanks meant to be stunted? Obviously not in this case, poor plec

There is no guarantee that the pictured tank is the tank it was living in. Hopefully it was only in that tank for picture purposes.

And actually there is only real scientific evidence to proove that goldfish undergo stunting. Other fish tend to grow to their full size (if physically possible) but then seem to die younger than they should. Who knows why, but there is a definite pattern.

ive got a black angel fish that ive had nearly 3 years. for all but the last month he was in a community tank that's only 24x12x15 at most. hes only 5-6 inches from tip to tip of his fins. i thought he should have been a lot bigger by now.

i messaged the guy yesterday and asked if he had always kept it in this tank heres his response

no he was in a bigger tank not much bigger he should be fine.

I've got a common plec that is 8 years old and barely 8in long.Eats well but was in filthy water and probably not fed much before I got it, hence stunted
