It would appear that someone is stealing my mail. I have been getting bills (why can't they steal them) but no other mail. I was meant to get a couple of letters from the bank but haven't. I was meant to get letters from the government but haven't.

So I have a stupid mail box that is only 6 inches off the ground and I can barely bend down to get the mail out. And some turkey is knocking off my mail, but leaving the bills behind. That's just uncool.

Any ideas how I stop this without putting a pipe bomb in my mail box?

PO Box, or mail slot in the door to your home.

mount an outdoor camera to identify the scoundrel
Open up a PO box at the post office and have them accept your mail

Through the USPS.gov website, you can ask the post office to hold your mail and then deliver it all at once on a specific day. Try this and see if you can break their cycle of checking your mailbox. You can also tell the PO to hold and you'll pick up. If the perp keeps finding an empty mailbox, maybe they'll move on.

What about putting a note in the box for your mailperson asking about it and leave a pen for them to answer.
Have you asked neighbors if their mail has been snatched also?
Call PO and ask if there's been any changes or filters put on your address for mail delivery.

I can't go to the post office due to underlying health issues and thousands of people being diagnosed with covid each day.

Posties don't look in our mail boxes, they just put the mail thru the slot.

Neighbours don't seem to be missing their mail but I have only spoken to one. Again I'm not going door knocking during the pandemic.

Someone exploded our neighbors mailbox in the middle of the night a couple times when we were still living in the suburbs, still dunno who. First time was the noise that got me, and I saw the explosion and the car speed away. Second was quieter and I noticed cause the whole multi box frame was burning

According to this, a PO Box is accessible 24/7...so someone like yourself with health issues can plan to go when its quieter and less people around. They are currently offering free 6 months of mail redirect to the PO Box for first time users of the service. Although the links states parcels, it is for normal post too.

It can all be arranged via their app
