hey all,

After a disastrous first attempt, using small slate coasters, I decide to buy some floor tiles and try them.

Here is the first attempt, try not to laugh too hard, I even stuck the shattered bits back together

and here are the new caves, I made four caves approx 5"x2"x1"
and then I made a big cave for my 120gallon tank, which I thought I would share as I did it at the same time.

Zebra caves from Above

Zebra caves from front

L001 cave and a smaller cave for the other fish to fight over

now I just need get the zebras

Just trying to work out how to make a rio xingu biotope, as its gonna be 3 yrs until they are old enough to breed, and I have a shoal of penguin tetras, which Im going to increase, to about 20.

I've seen H. bleheri's on PFK but as hr states his isnt a true biotope as he has plants.

Some sites say sand, other say gravel, Ive seen a few photos of the rio xingu but not many good river bed shots, which is VERY annoying lol.

oh right m8 dont know them

zebras cost far bit of money to get hold of them L46 around 100 pounds i have seen them for sale found someone on ebay the other day they wanted 150 pounds each around 1ins long or so and mony on top for P+P i like them but wldnt be allowed to pay that much for one lol my wife wld go mad

all have have is the L182 bristlenose to breed around 12 of them now and the common ones
i have some caves that i made out of the clay pots bottoms but have this wk brought some proper caves made out of slate hes calling them marsbar caves not seen a pic of them as yet but have brought 8 caves from him waiting for them to come thru the post that be next wk now 5 pounds each with free P+P
anyway ill let u go hope u find some soon

yeah Zebras are hard to get, and are very expensive, but I have got 4 from a breeder.
I'm just waiting for them to be grown on a bit first.

Then its a nice 3yr wait for them to become sexually mature enough to breed, Ive not bred plecs before, but I like a challenge.

I might get some other plecs in the mean time and have a go with them, maybe some BNs as they are quiet easy to breed.
I have have bred Corydoras before and to more success than most professional breeders, the biggest batch of C. trillineatus is actually documented on here.

yes m8 very expensive
then wait for three years thats a long time in it

bristlenose really easy to breed i have L182 little harder they have breed once but kicked out the eggs so i put them in a holding tank and they all died after abt 4 wks just waiting for them to breed again since then i brought another 8 that never breed before little bigger then the ones i hgot now they all going in my new tank next wk when its set up and ready for them then i can closed down some tanks...

if u look in my profile u see wot i have in my tanks good luck really nice fish but to much money

yeah you have some nice plecs and panaques there, always thought about get a royal panaque, but my big tank is stocked already :( lol

my fish n tanks are also on my profile ;)

Cichlids aren't really my thing, although i have a few.
I'm more catfish and oddballs, malawis are just to samey for me and the good cichlids are always VERY aggressive and don't do well in communities.

yes m8 every one to there own in it i've had Jack Dempsey ,jags ,jewels ,convicts and malawis
loads really over the last 10 years

going to keep the community fish till they die off or ill sale them going to keep all my catfish and pleco's some going in my new tank thats going to be set up next wk as i have to stay home and dog sit and feed the fish when the wife goes on holiday with the kids and her friend.
