Some Questions About Loaches

A ? on a loach?? Errrmmmm, not sure I understand what you mean? In the tank is a good start. ;) Some species get big and need a big tank to suit. Others can live in smaller tanks. The tend to stay in the bottom part of the tank but can and do swim into the middle and top regions of the tank. They like hiding spots. Mine currently like to hide under a piece of bogwood in the tank.
If that doesn't cover it please try asking again. :)
Hugs,
P.
Edit:Anjd if you mean where does a question go about loaches you need the Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids section. ;)

yes thats what i meant where would i ask a question about them. Well now that i know are they good bottom cleaners and are there any that would stay small 2-4" and can they be kept by themselves and are they relativly peacefull? thanks i know its a lot of questions but i am considering a new bottom feeder and i was thinking shrimps or loaches and i dont know much about loaches and i am trying to do some research but theres a lot out there. Thanks again

How big of a tank are they going in? Like Miss Dib Dabs said, the size of the tank will determine which loaches you can get. Some loaches like to be alone, but the majority of them like to be in groups. Please remember that a loach will also need to be fed regularly and cant stay healthy just eating leftovers on the bottom or being a "bottom cleaner". They need a steady diet just like every other fish.

Most of them are peaceful but notably the botia kind are the ones with some more aggresive types; i have heard Pakistani Loach (yo yo loach) can be aggresive sometimes. And most loaches like to be in groups of 3 or more, in fact i havent seen an article about a species of loach that dosent recommend groups!

Here are some sites with info on the loaches (i looked at small loaches) (These loaches like groups)

Bengal Loach

Kuhli Loach

A page with loach info on it (this page also has some barbs and rasboras on it)

This is a good website, scroll down to the loaches section to find some loaches.

Here's another loach page, scroll down to find the loaches section again.

Loaches are my favorite fish!
