Maybe you can help me. I am cycling my new 10 gal. tank with three tiger barbs. One i noticed has a "gimpy" fin. The other two bully this one as well as each other. Is there anything i can do or is this a case of survival of the fittest?

How many barbs do you have? If its just 3 then be ready for one to have a miserable life of getting beat up. Is that all you have in your 10 gal.? Give me some info. and im sure me/others can help you out! Tiger barbs need to be kept in groups of atleast 5-6. When they are in groups like this they spread out there aggression through out the group....so not just one is always picked on. I have a grenn tiger who seems to have under developed fins....but he's perfectly fine and swims as good as the regular ones.

It is a ten gal. tank. it is also new. so i am trying to cycle it. (this is my first time). All i have researched on cycling says to use a small amount of fish at first. i am scared if i add too many, they will not do well and the shock to the tank may cause levels to rise too rapidly.
Yes i have three tiger barbs, which are very aggressive. do you think it is safe to add more, if so how many?

thanks for your help.
what other info would be helpfull for you?
