Its a single layer of sand, it only looks like its got 2 layers beacuse of the light

Do you find it difficult to keep the light sand clean? I ask because I am starting up my first 20 gallon tank (Cycling now), I began with gravel but am considering a switch to sand. The gravel hides detritus until I gravel vac it and I know that sand won't do that as well / at all.

its the same tank,just in different stages,the top pic is how it is now,the bottom pic shows how much xmas moss i started of with on the bogwood,as you can see by the top pic it has flourished.

Lovely tank.

Looks lovely and simple. KLove the plants also, possibly first heavily planted tank I've seen that I like 100%
