It's sad really. here's my sad story:

Today, i went to my lps, petsmart...u know how da employees always ask if u have a big enough tank fro da fish, do u have a filter, and stuff like that? well today this person came in and i saw da whole thing, first he complained aobut all his fish dying then da employee acted like he knew noting about wut he is talkin about...then he said he wanted more fish to replace wut he has now, then he picked sum fish (3 ud cats :hey: ) then he finnaly anounced dat it is only a 5 gallon dat he brought dere which includes a little hood and it was only for $15 :X then he said dat the fish he has should e happy becasue they are getting feed everyday unlike the wild :-(
 
Sorry I can't understand you through all the 'dat' and 'da' you put in there. :dunno:

Some guys got a 5 gallon, complained that fish they got died and then wanted to replace them with 3 upside down catfish. Is that right?

Yeah, I think so. And the employee acted like he knew nothing, and the guy said they should be be happy, because they are getting fed every day, unlike the wild.
At least, that is what I think kevin007 said!!

Today a person came into the store and i saw the whole thing, first the customer complained about all of his fish dying.
Then the employee acted like he knew nothing about what he was talking about...

The customer said he wanted more fish to replace what had died, He then picked some more fish (3 UD cat fish ). he finnaly anounced that the tank was only a 5 gallon that he bought from this shop that included a little hood. the aquarium was only for $15 the customer then said that the fish should be happy becasue they were getting feed everyday unlike in the wild

Why doesn't the giy deserve fish, seems to me (from what I can understand) that this guy hasn't been given the right inforamtion to start with and the lfs have been no use. This happens all the time, just a shame as it always is, to see an animal bought under false pretences. I was atmy lfs recently and the woman told me that fish "do not have feelings"! Stupid *****, I know more than her.

Something that can't be helped. Maybe you should have given the guy this URL, we'd have taught him a thing or two. ;)

Fish don't have feelings,huh...Shoulda dunked her head in a tank and kicked her in the arse and asked her if she felt it. :grr:

You said "arse"!! Shouldn't it be 'ass' on your side of the pond?!

I agree. Silly cow, whenever I go in to get fish she gives me weird looks and insists on asking me loads of questions even though I go in all the time and the other staff know me.

I'd hate to be that dim. :X
 
Some people don't deserve to drive either...
Some people don't even deserve to have kids...

But they do. Many people suck. That's how it is. It's great we can be in this hobby and trying to avoid living that kind of life, but it's a fact. Some of the jerks and morons of the world are going to see a pirahna and want some fish.

So too, however, some misguided people are going to trip and fall into the hobby and kill some fish. It's important to recognize the differences between these two types of people so that you can focus on helping the clueless, but well-meaning people and hopefully nudge them into the hobby culture. The rest of them are not worth your time or thought. Do not let them get you down.

Assignment for the week: Help a newbie.
