Okay, so I'm working on the camera thing - these look a bit better than the last batch, but still not great...


Here's my new melano female -she says, "I'm hiding!"

New steel blue female - she stresses out at the drop of a hat. She's got stress bars more often than not, but seems pretty happy despite this...

MuttGirl - or Yarmulke, I haven't decided which her name is yet, but she's my fave, personality-wise, of the auction fish I got. She was totally an afterthought too - I'm really glad I got her!

Nope, but she kinda looks like it in that pic! She won 2nd in her class at the betta show, and boy, does she know it.

nibbles - Melano females are infertile, always, so you can't breed them. You have to cross in steel blue lines. I think Jen just got her as a pet, because she's CUUUUUUTE!!!


They all look awesome!! I'm loving the little opaque girl , amazing you got her for like 50 cents really, since you only had one raffle ticket in there. I am almost wishing I had got those oranges... Did you hear my big finned red male died? Hmph.. and the black plakat isn't eating. Anyways sorry for hijacking, just had to update you. How are your boys??

No worries on the hijack. I heard about your red guy - what a bummer! The girls are all great - the melano wants to be bred, she's SO full of eggs and bars up constantly. I will admit, it's tempting to put her in with the copper boy to give everybody a "trial run" so to speak.

Plakat's not eating, huh? That's no good. I really hope you can get him to take something soon. Poor fishies - they go through so much in such a short period of time. I'm having trouble with my males from the show - there are only 3 - the mustard gas on crack, the white boy, and the plakat. The MG (or whatever the heck he is) is fine. He had a rip in his tail when he came home, and he still does, but it's not rot. Reminds me of Bitey, who has a big cernter rip in his tail that never healed, but never was infected or anything. Other then that he's doing great! The white boy...I don't know what's wrong with him. He'll eat bloodworms, and sometimes a little flake, but that's it. He's just...listless. Just sits there, doesn't move much. doesn't seem symtomatic of anything, but I'm watching him very closely. My little plakat - I don't know if he's going to make it. He was doing great, but over the last couple of days has gotten sick. He's been seperated - but also listless. He's been a big eater since I got him home, but just isn't doing well now. I found him floating belly up a couple of times yesterday, and was sure he was dead, but apparently not quite. He's being treated with bettamax, but I don't even know if that's going to do anything - he's not really symptomatic either so it's hard to know what to treat for. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

Copper Boy finally settled in. He gave me a scare two days ago, got a white bump by his mouth. That's what happened last time I took him out of the twenty. I'm starting to wonder if he gets stress induced cold sores! Anyway, he's 100% of his punky self today, and the white bump is gone. *phew*
