hi guys

so i already have my 7 gallon tank with a fan tail goldfish (which will be moved into the larger tank when he gets bgger) and i also have 7 WCMM's in there it has an elite stingray filter, air stone and 1 live plant + 2 plastic plants and is coming along really well (an udate for those who helped me get it sarted)

So here i my question.

I have recently got a 5 litre goldfish and was wandering if this would be an ok size to put the 7 WCMM's into, it does not have a filter but i can get one if its needed, and i was just goin to add in gravel as substrate and a live plant, what do you guys think?

Thanks guys & girls :p

You realise 5 litres is 1 gallon accounting for the amount of air space at the top. It is not at all suitable for anything but inverts. WCMMs need at least 40L so should be left in the bowl the fancy is currently in and the fancy should be moved to a larger tank as we keep repeating.

Especially unsuitable for WCMM as they're fast swimmers aren't they? They really thrive with lots of swimming room, I wouldn't be too surprised if they died soon after being put into a 5l bowl.

Agree with above posts.
I think you should either rehome them or get a bigger tank.
You can pick up some real bargains for a nice tank.
Ebay etc.

With the 5L you can raise their fry in their but that is about it as far as fish in that bowl are concerned.

Have a quick search on e-bay, go to the section with fish tanks, put your postcode in, sort by distance and see what comes up in the surrounding area.
You're going to have to upgrade the goldfish sooner rather than later anyways, so if you start looking at what deals are on ebay (check daily), you should be able to get something pretty cheap within a week or so.

I really would leave the WCMM in the tank they are currently in, and think about just upgrading the goldfish sooner. It's fairer on the goldfish, and MUCH MUCH fairer on the WCMM as the 5l really is a death sentence.

ok thaks for that info the WCMMs are in the 7 gallon with the goldfish, but its my birthday in a few days and im getting a much larger tank, so they will all go in there, thanks! :good:

still looking as birthday is like 2 weeks or so, but it may be something like a 30 gal second hand
