We've had the tank for a year now. Only selling as we have decided two tanks is too much. The tank is not damaged in any way. It comes with the cabinet and has the light oak trim.

Thanks for looking.

Forgot to mention that the tank is empty and clean and ready for viewing and collection.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Yes, 100 pounds cash is fine.
is the stand in good condition? any scratchs etc? many thanks

Hi,

the stand is in good condition, only a year old, there are no scratches or anything that I can see - have just had a good look at it to make sure :)

Yes, you can collect at the weekend, when would you be coming?

To put fish in you will need gravel or sand (you can get this from any pet shop or tropical fish shop, I believe you can also use playsand, but have not got personal experience). You'll need to wash the gravel well before filling the tank and will probably have cloudy water for a day or so.

I would also recommend putting some live media in the filter (see threads on here about cycling your tank). I am presuming this is your first tank? The fish will produce ammonia in their waste and if you have live media (i.e. bacteria from an existing tank) in your filter, they break down the ammonia so that the water is not too toxic for this fish - otherwise it could damage their gills and/or kill them. There are many people on here who can tell you more about that, but I would suggest getting your gravel and washing it well, then I can give you a polyester pad from my other tank which will have lots of bacteria to break down the ammonia in it. You could also come back for this after you have your tank set up and are ready to put your fish in, if you like, as the bacteria will die if they have nothing to feed on, that means if your tank is empty without fish the bacteria cannot feed.

What else will you need? Maybe some plants or other decoration, stones etc., which you can buy at large pet shop chains or tropical fish shops. And fish. You will also need the filter media (polyester pad, foam pad) for the Fluval 3 plus filter - I will have a look and see what I have left, which I can give you - I'll get back to you soon.

Hope this makes sense. There are lots of lovely people on here who will help if you have questions - just post on the beginners/newbies forum.

saturday lunchtime if thats ok with you?will you send me your address and contact number and i can give you a call when i am nearly there, as i live in notts, thanks

I have lots of foam pads etc, i.e. filter media for the filter, so you wouldn't need to buy that. I can put a piece in my running filter in my other tank so that it is ready for you to use when you get your fish - should be ok as long as you only put maybe 5 or 6 small fish in to start with and let the bacteria build up gradually.

I have tried to upload a photo but am unable to attach a file for some reason. I can email one to you if you pm me with your email address. Or you can google Fluval Roma 125 litre tank.

HTH.

We no longer have the packaging for the tank, so would suggest bringing lots of blankets, duvets, old towels etc. to wrap around so the glass doesn't break or get scratched.

See you Saturday.
