Basically I haven't got too much light 2x18w t8 tubes (one marine white, one actinic). The tank is 125l ,18" high,13" wide and 2'10" long. I will do something about the lights eventually(probably some kind of diy thing with 3 or 4 t5s) but for now I want to stick with the t8s.
So what I would like to know are some ideas for soft corals that will live under my lights? I already have some mushrooms that hitch hiked in with my LR and they seem happy enough.

Thanks Johnny

zoo's maybe, xenia or maybe some leather's. Just something to look into may not be suitable though.

Mushies and Xenia would be fine, and perhaps some larger palythoa would be OK too. A leather might do OK but it would need to be placed high up in the rock stack.

Flower Tree Coral is good for low light and comes in many colors
this is a pic of mine

Thanks for the ideas :good:

I think Xenia definitely, I did really want a leather so maybe I'll have to look at my light sooner rather than later, zoos are good and the flwer tree coral looks really nice but I cant find much info on it, is there another common name for it??

Another thought..... If I added say another tube to my current lighting a t5 ,theres room to add one on the underside of the access flaps(I've done this on my planted FW) what difference would that make to my possible choices (still with softies I'm not trying to get too ambitious with me poo lighting!)??
Also would that tube be better to be an actinic or a white?

Thanks Johnny

It'd be better to have a marine white as far as photosyntesis is concerned. If you tacked another T5 on there with an individual reflector, you could keep leathers just fine and probably branch into some zooanthids as well. You MIGHT even be able to get away with a tentacled LPS too.

Then that sounds like a plan :hey: Thanks :good:
