cool lots of little angel fry :) i couldnt help noticing the thing on the right in that orrange thing ... ive not seen one before please could you tell me what it is?
edit some kind of filter?

That is a sponge filter ......not really orange, just turned out that way in the pic...it's actually more of a dirty yellow....had it set up for a month in parents tank.....rinsed it a bit in tank water before I moved it over to the swim out tank.

Hi Mama
I tried the same sort of thing many years ago. I used a spaghetti jar, had limited success. It is nice to see that you are having lots of luck with the method.
I now leave the eggs with the parents, as it is less work, and they do a better job than I can at getting rid the fungused eggs. The only problem that this creates is that I can not get into the tanks to clean the bottoms, as the parents will not let me any where near the water.

Hope to see more photos as they grow.

Thanks, Tanked! :D

Dolphin...I have an empty 29 gal cycled ...I was going to add sand to this tank....but have decided to take the gravel and UGF out and put one of my pair in there...I would rather they do the work!
I also enjoy watching them, it is pretty neat.

I have to kill off planaria and hydra that attacked my 29gal while I was doing a fishless cycle....I tried to jack the het up to kill them off....but I couldn't get it that hot....I am going to have to add another heater to get it up to 108 degrees I guess.

Mamaphish repeated water changes will kill planaria and so will a little salt if your fish can handle it. Planaria is caused by excess nitratre in the water .
I have had experience with this problam.

HiMama

To get rid of the planaria and the hydra add lots of salt.
I would remove the filter to another tank, to keep it cycled, add lots of salt, then when every thing is dead give the tank a good clean out. Refill the tank, heat and add an air stone. After 3 days put the filter back in. Then you should be good to go.
If the filter is infested as well, then it will have to be a complete strip down, after adding the salt.

Fishdude - Angel fish will eat just about anything that they can get in their mouths. When larger they will attack smaller fish, so should be kept with larger company. As to been territorial, they do like their own space, (when paired more so). Keep large angels with fish that are able to look after themselves.
