Second year Geneticist here. Currently studying for 4 exams that start tomorrow and end on the 19th.
I've got 2 which are part multiple choice and part essay. And the other two are pure multiple choice! :D

Just want to say to anyone studying that I feel for you. And that you shouldn't be on here reading this! But also... what do you hope to achieve from your exams? Personally I'm aiming for an overall grade of 70% or more which is a 1st at Uni. :)

I am studying for my GCSE exams now. I've got biology tomorrow, chemistry on Monday and physics next Wednesday.

I am having a 5min rest now from revising. :good:

So am I. lol. I've just been through 500 lecture slides over the past 2 days. And had easily my hardest exam on Monday. But hey ho!

It's always worth it in the end.

I don't take tests anymore... I give them...

No, serious, I remember what it's like. You'll do fine... Good luck. :good:

On the flip side, I have to grade them now too...

In a way I would rather be taking than grading. It must really numb your mind with some of the long wordy answers you get.

Especially the ones where people waffle or 'blag it' lol.

Just sat a maths module today sooooo hard!! Thankfully only exam until the summer ones! Loads of cw though :-l

I am always studying something-this time it's maths GCSE-started in Oct-exam in May! Last year Mandarin, next year maybe science. Did an ou degree too!
Good luck all

Did my exams before the christmas break, afaik the rest of my year is entirely coursework now.

Alright for some!
I had Medical Molecular Genetics on Monday, Manipulating genes + genomes tomorrow, Experimental data and design Tuesday and then Genes, genomes and chromosomes on Wednesday.
Then I'm done until June time when the next set rolls around. And also imbetween now and then I have to write a dissertation! Who said Uni was all about getting drunk and lazing about eh...

I'm also working extra hard to get the best possible grades as a buffer so that when I come back from my year in California (if it's happening), I have a bit of extra scope if I've suddenly forgotten anything to do with genetics. lol.

My time at Uni feels like a whirl wind and a blur maybe because it's so hard to me. Not the best at it but just keel plugging away at it and try and get the best results possible in cw lol

Oh god, I totally know what you mean with regards to the whole whirlwind thing. It's flying past me. I swear I only just started a few weeks ago and I've now almost finished the first set of exams for this year...

And I'm so sure it wasn't a year and a half ago that I started uni! lol.

I'm in my second year now and half way through it. My gf has done her degree and masters Im way behind her haha did my apprentaship first then thought it would be a good idea to go onto Uni. Such a big contrast from college to Uni and also from working to Uni! Should have stayed at Uni the first time when I was 18.

I took a Gap year between A levels and Uni. I originally went to York Uni but didn't like it. York just isn't busy enough for me. And in my year out I had a full time job (that is now my part time job), doing web design n the like.
I know what you mean with the switch. It was weird at first. Work was more stable... as in day in day out. And when you finished for the day you finished for the day. Uni can be really quiet one week, but then you'll have work to do at home and then you have things like exams. pshh, I wonder why I've done it sometimes. Then I see how many jobs there are out there for geneticists at the moment and I remember! And I may complain but I do actually enjoy learning/revising about the subject. I just don't enjoy then sitting an exam. And I always think 'Oh I could have done more'

York seems really nice place took the gf a few year ago and went on a lads drinking day but did seem extremely quiet I think if I was older it would be good to live there. I fancy staying the night in the golden fleece haha. What Uni did you end up going to in the end? That's the thing when you finish work it's done for the day with Uni u always have that worry of cw or you may not be doing enough if your just sat playing ps3 or watching tv you feel guilty slightly haha. Hopefully there will be a job for me but with rpthe recession you never know. Although I could always go back to work I guess. What ever pays the most really haha if it's my college qualification then that if its Uni that :)
