Ordered some panda cories from Aqua Huna. I had used them before. Got them today and noticed heat coming from box. Opened them to find all 6 dead. I checked water temp and it was almost 85F. How hot was the heat pack initially? Poor things cooked to death. Why add a heat pack to fish going to Texas? Waiting for a reply from the stupid people. Poor fish!

OH NO! that is so sad! I am surprised since Aqua Huna is the supplier recommended by Aquarium Co-op. That is really unfortunate.

Sorry to hear about the panda cories. I have considered ordering fish over the internet, but decided to make do with what I could find locally. I live within two hours of the further est places for aquarium fish shopping in Houston. One of my favorite places to shop is Fish Gallery, although I have only been there twice, I have never found any diseased, or distressed fish from Fish Gallery, plus the place is just awesome to visit.

I have bought most of my fish from the chain stores like Petsmart and Petco, but have had problems with this. But I have learned how to tell the difference between what I consider to be the good places in chain stores and bad places to shop. I take my time in these places asking the employees questions and carefully checking their stock to see how well they are taken care of. I never buy my fish from Walmart, learned a hard lesson about doing that.

@Deanasue wow I am so sorry! I wonder if the heat pack was there to handle "departure location" shipping, and just clearly was not optimized for the destination in any way. One would think that if it's overnight shipping just some really really really good insulation would keep them warm enough until they got to texas. What a bummer! Let us know what they say / offer to do.
