Over the past 4 years I've been using my 10gallon tank on and off each year for tropical fish, due to the fact they died alot. sad.gif

So I was on Craig's list today and saw a Rectangle 20 gallon tank for $15 in my area, just the tank.

So I love how the sea looks and would like to start a salt water fish tank.

What do I need to start?
How do I go about getting the things?
How do I go about installing/starting these items?
How many fish can I house?
Price range?

Please answer back,
Anthony

PS : Msg me on any instant messenger I have if I'm online please.

Well anthony, hex tanks really aren't the best tanks for marine setups for a bunch of reasons. If I were you, I'd start by reading through the stickies atop this section to get an idea of what you're in for. Also check out the stickies in the nano section, as you're talking a smaller sized tank here.

Then I'd visit some larger online retailers like liveaquaria.com or saltwaterfish.com to get an idea of what kind of animals you'd like to keep. Then come back with some more pointed questions :)

Wow, dense guy here, dunno why I saw hexagonal...

well hey, it just so happens that 20gallon rectangle tanks (especially 20 long) are a great starter size :D My advice about looking around some major retailers still stands though. Once you know what livestock you want to keep, we can start tailoring the hardware suggestions towards them :)
