just added a half dose of api melafix to my tank...

is said on the bottle to remove any active carbon so i changed my filter cartrige cuz it was over a month and very dirt anywyas.. and i did not put any new carbon in it, just the netting filter

the water got bubbly on top, and added alot of bubbles where the filter water poors in the tank

is this normal?

and was not putting carbon in th filter a good idea?

i do not have an air STONE... but i do have an air pump with an adjustable pressure nob

should i feed the hose into the tank and use the aire pump?

As long as the fish can't get into the tube that sounds fine.

oh no possible way they can, the tube itself is thinner than a no.2 pencil lol

its new so its clean, i will put the tube in now... should i route it in the tank opposite of the filter? the other side of tank

and route it down to the gravel?

Opposite side of tank to filter.
I would just sometimes stick the airstone in a plant.

well i dont have a stone, but what i just did was i routed the hose down the oposite side of the tank, and under a shell that i have, the shell is standing up, and the hose is against the glass, so i just was able to get the shell to hide the end of the hose, i put the air pressure about medium...

not too much bubbles,

or should i have more or less air?

lol

If the tube only has a little hole just place it in a plant to hold it.
Or use the shell to hold it down.

its pretty sturdy where it is now with the shell, its working like a charm =)

but wouldnt the air/bubbles release any CO2 in the water and lower my pH?

Are you running an airstone.
No don't put the carbon back in it will remove the med.its new so its clean, i will put the tube in now... should i route it in the tank opposite of the filter? the other side of tank

and route it down to the gravel?

No.
It's just for aeration.

i have two fish with battered fins that i am curing with melafix...

it has been a few days now and im not seeing the greatest results on the worse fish.. any ideas why?
