LOL, And have it installed, No plants or anything in the tank as of yet.(pretty worthless to have the plant system in prolly but that's besides the point). I'm waiting for my substrate to get here! For now I'm going to use the packages that have some with it.(3 months supply.) My tank is staying at a curent temp of 74 degrees Farenheight, so that's good! I have a live cam on my cycling tank and the link is url="http://www.newbreedjesusfreaks.com/fishcam/fishycam.html"]HERE[/url]. This will soon be my jrounal I think, and will have it moved if i decide that it will become my journal! I have gotten Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate test kits with other test kits that was in with them...

EDIT: Also, Does the hagen plant thing produce bubles on its own? Never quite understood that part....lol

Youve probably already read elsewher that the packets ar absolutely useless and this is sooo true. I would ditch them or sell them and use the DIY mix straight away.

Sugar to first mark
½ teaspoon yeast (properly measured)
warm water to second mark
On with the lid as tight as
Shake with finger over spout
Connect and watch

After 2 hours you should definately see bubbles but with a new ladder they will take time to run smoothly

The unit produces CO2 via fermentation and the CO2 travels along the hose to the outlt which you connect to the ladder. The bubble then works its way up getting smaller as it siffuses with the water and then a small buble exits the top of the ladder.

lol, yes I have heard they are totally useless, LOL. but I just spent 75 bucks today. I don't think my mom wants to spend another dime on me. HAHA...(I'm sure you know how that is...)

Heres a My first Water Stats of my New Tank:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 18ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm (And it's only been like 3 days)
pH: 8.4
Hardness: 300
Alkalinity: 250
Chlorine: 0

A lot of the numbers are 0 cuz I have no cubstrate or anythign atm!

(Pics from a coup[le days ago when I first set it up will be comming soon)
(Also will be posting pics of what it looks like today from what I added!)

1) NitrIte will be zero at the moment - you will only see nitrIte once ammonia is present and bacteria then develop to turn the ammonia into nitrIte. It is only when nitrIte has risen and then dropped back to zero that a zero reading for nitrIte is 'correct'

2) You may be better off emptying the tank before addint the substrate - adding substrate through a full tank is going to be a right pain and will possibly cloud the water really bad.

3) The sachets that come with the Nutrafin kit really are useless and expensive. You need sugar anyhow, so adding a packet of yeast for a few pounds/dollars will be cheaper long term than continously buying the sachets that don't work anyhow!

Is this stuff supposed to go in my COz System as well? or in the tank itself?

Yes I plan on buying the yeast afterwards but right now I can't. Mom won't allow me. lol

You add that straight into the water at levels described on the bottle.

rofl.. I seen a buble come... with the stuff that came with the product.. It wnt through the first level on the ladder.. ROFL....... that's pathetic!

Calling mom right now! to see if she will get some yeast.. That is jsut aweful!

ok I have bubles...... But. they're getting stuck on the second laldder step.... WHY? and when one or two get to the top where are they supposed to go to?

They will get stuck for a while as the ladder is new but eventually (maybe even a week) they will 'glide' up the ladder.
