Should I be concerned about anything?

I had taken a glass of water out of my aquarium to do some tests on it and left it on my counter. Later, after having forgotten about it, I grabbed the glass and took a big gulp thinking it was some tap water. As I swallowed I remembered! Ahhhh! I felt pretty sick but I think it was mostly in my head. This was last night. Now, about 20 hours later, I have mild nausea. I haven't thrown up or anything but I don't feel great. However, I also drank a bunch of whiskey last night, so it could be that.

Anyway, should I be worrying about the fish water? The tank is pretty clean and none of the fish are sick. I had put some stress coat and and beneficial bacteria solution in the water a few hours earlier.

Thanks for any help.

It is a tropical aquarium btw.

Good whiskey kills bacteria due to the alcohol content. You will feel fine in 1 more day.

only if it was mature whisky.

I think many people have had a few mouthfuls of tank water when starting the syphon off (and petrol or diesel for the criminally minded!). I can't see a problem with the tank water, though the fuel is a different matter....

My cat drinks mine, if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me...not that I actively drink it, it's just that if I accidentally do it doesn't really bother me.

There's an old saying something along this lines of if the water is good enough for fish to live in its good enough to drink.
Personally I wouldn't drink it but nor would I drink alcohol.

Done few times.. Nothing major happen to me.

And back home in Sri Lanka we all drink water from wells.. Which has trillions of wild guppies..

Forgot to mention that one of my dogs drinks mine too. When I do a water change I top up her large tub of tank water! She'll only drink that and puddle or pond water unless she's gasping

Oddly enough i was thinking about this the other day; if civilization collapsed and there was no fresh tap water, you could drink the fish tank water and pee back into it and the filter would purify it, so you'd never run out of clean water.
As long as the electric stayed on! Or you had a generator. Anyway, the idea is sound; out filters are only smaller versions of what they use on sewage farms.
You'd have to save some rainwater for changes I guess.

Any water.. Including the water from your toilet, if you boil it, then absolutely no problem in drinking it..

Oh, well, there is that; but my idea is ...more interesting :p

I think we need to have one of our science folks help us out and calculate the pee conversion capacity of various tanks sizes.

Hey, one never knows when civilization is going to collapse. Some say it already has.
