So, how's your fish going today?

Happy to be with me? I think I am supremely unimportant to them, and if anyone else took over the feeding and maintenance, they'd barely notice. But I have been working on improving their tanks since I returned from Central Africa and got to study habitats. I'm waiting for equipment to arrive to increase the flow in some tanks, and am redecorating tanks so they will resemble natural habitats.
The very few store bought fish know nothing different and probably find a good decor weird after going from vat to vat to bare store tanks all their lives. They're like people in an airport after three connecting flights. But they seem calm.
The home bred majority like their clean water and a variety of food. It's all they've ever experienced, and so far, it's worked for them. They don't seem to be listening to depressing music or taking drugs, so they may be content.
The wild caughts are trying to figure out how it was they were captured by a predator and ended up in a stomach with plants, clean water and good food.

Happy? I hope so, but don't know. I'm happy trying to give them the best conditions I can, and trying to solve the puzzles that creates.

Interesting to hear!

Well, all my fish behave in a healthy way.... So, I assume they're happy. And if they're not, they may always call me...📞

I think mine are tolerably happy with their tank. I don't think they give a rip about me one way or the other, except they seem to have noticed that food appears when I am near. I suspect some of them miss their streams in the foothills. But we do the best we can.
