Hiya,

Does anyone know if snowball plecos are normally shy? I haven't seen mine for a few days and last time he only came out because I moved a few rocks. At first I saw him underneath one of the ornaments alot hanging with my green pleco, but now he is even more shy. I have never seen him out feeding or anything, is this normal for a snowball?

My mother in law had one (before she killed it) and it was very shy.
Also depends on how long you have had it.
They should be become more relaxed in time, but they are nocturnal, as you probably know.

Mine was for the first month I had him. Now it has been about 5 months and when ever I feed my plecos he comes out. Most of the time when I get home he is is out exploreing the tank looking for food. Take care of him as you would with a Gold Nugget. I feed the gold nuggest and my snowball veges, sinking wafers/pellets, and blood worms and they both love eating these foods.

Thanks for the advice.

None of my plecos seem to notice the wafers when I put them in and the other fish eat them :grr: The last couple of times, I have been putting them in after the lights turn off, but of course, can't see if they're eating them :/

I feed wafers and pellets every other day as well as the usual flakes for the other fish every day and frozen food including blood worms occasionally. Is this ok?
