That's an adult red snakehead, channa micropeltes

You'd need more then a 180g for it when it gets to 3'!!!

Take my word for it, channa micropeltes don't taste good. Tough flesh. Try something like channa striata, tastes far better

Now im not sure, but do you live in Maryland as in the United States? Because im fairly certain that all species of Snakehead are illegal in the U.S.

Yeah they are illegal in the united states to buy or sell, but in maryland they are not illegal to OWN. They are illegal to OWN in VA. Apparently the guy broke state laws because he brought it to their place from VA.

Correction, Northern snake heads are illegal to buy or sell in the US, others are controlled on the state level.

i had one of these in a 75 gallon tank with oscars and a jack demp...no idea they grow so fast..he got 20 inches ate all my fish i didnt know what to do with this sucka...he was 3 inches when i got him..he just blew up! he was a monster

Actually....there are a number of states in which possession of all snakeheads is illegal. Federally....there is a ban on the interstate shipping of all live snakeheads and viable eggs but NOT a ban on possession. There is also an import ban which is meant to prevent any more snakeheads from entering the country from abroad.
