"Two pest controllers were called to coax a 4ft (1.2m) orange snake into a bag after it was found by a tenant in her house boiler.

When Lee Marshall, 40, spoke to an "almost hysterical" young woman from Southsea, Portsmouth, claiming she had seen a snake he thought she was joking.

But he and a colleague discovered the creature slithering inside a boiler.

Mr Marshall, of pest control firm Contract Killers, took the snake home and has now contacted Marwell Zoo";

Woah must have been pretty scary, kinda reminds me of a news story a few years back when a hospital found hundreds of hatchling snakes in their boiler;

"Grass snakes have been unnerving staff and patients at a rural hospital in the Forest of Dean.

In the past few weeks, more than 200 snakes have had to be removed from the Dilke hospital near Cinderford.

Most of the harmless creatures have been found in the boiler room, apparently attracted by the warmth."

Wow, that's scary. I hope I never find a bright orange snake in my house! Was it an exotic snake? It sounds like it was.
What is a house boiler? Is it like a water heater?

lol... it's a corn snake.

it feels like it's tickling you when it bites.

bloody woosies. :p

Esfa, not many people can tell what species a snake is. I know I couldn't until recently.

Still, I find it amusing how people go bonkers when they see a snake. :lol:

Calm down, not everyone's a snake geek -_-

They weren't being 'woosie', how many people do you think would recognise a corn snake from any other snake? I wouldn't, corn snakes seem to come in so many varieties that I wouldn't have a clue.

It's better for people to be on the safe side than go grabbing a snake when it could be anything, anyone from the rspca or animal rescue services will tell you that.

I was only joking about.... i wish some users on this forum would grow a sense of humour.

Shes also had a go at the glass, he hide, some paper, a mouse (F/T and she just kept striking at it lol)

I'll have to tell my son the operating engineer to watch for snakes, he works at a hospital. They switch between boiler room duty & building duty. There is a park with a large lagoon across the street, I used to fish there when I was a kid, I'm sure there are snakes there.
