I know this might be a stupid question to some but i havent got a clue...

Is it ok to put a common english garden snail in a fish tank with my fry insted of goin all the way to my lfs?

cheers

chris

Don't think that'd work because I for one have never seen one in water. Perhaps near it but not in it. I don't think they have the right organs to 'breathe' underwater just like your average pond snail.

At a risk, you could go to your nearest river/stream and pinch a few river snails instead? Your risk however, if you decide to do this. :)

I personally would make the effort of going to the lfs, at least you can be more certain that the snail is safe and correct type for your tank. :D

Go to Pet City by rthe corn exchange, they have bucketloads of these black and brown stripy snails...I don't know what exactly they are...but they're very pretty. :)
