What makes you think they're crazy and/or dead?

I don't know about floating but mine climb the glass and then just let go and sink to the bottom.

Do they do get taken down like a ball and float up?

Looks like an apple/mystery snail to me, don't worry about the floating, mystery snails use this technique to float down riverr hoping to find more food.
This may be an indication that they have trouble finding food in the tank.
Besides that they look fine.

I just thought they didn't move for long periods of time. Is what worried me and he got caught in the current of the filter bouncing off the glass

Perfectly normal behavior for "mystery" snails...usually

How long has the tank been set up? Is it cycled? How long have you had the snails?

I've had the snails for about two weeks. It has, they were in a 3 gallon tank and now they are in a 10 gallon tank. A betta and sucker fish, three snails.

Pic of the "sucker fish"?....that is an overused term in the trade, that really is not useful for ID
