Does any1 know where i can get some small feeder snails cause my figure 8 and clown loach likes to eat them but i cant find no one that sells them in bulk.

i usually go to my lfs and just ask for some of the nuisance snails (you know, like that come with plants) and they typically are more than happy to give them to me for free. they look at me funny but give them to me anyway. then i put them into my various tanks to let them reproduce. i have puffers too, thats why i get them. won't take them long to reproduce either. petsmart/petco stores are usually quite happy to have you help with their snail problem. some private stores might try to charge you (one was willing to give me a dozen for a dollar, theyre even selling ramshorns for $1.50, i got them free at petsmart). call around and see.

Ya petmarts by me gives them to me when i go in cause all they do is throw them away they said there of no use to them. If i wanted to bread them how would i go about doing that cause i got a another tank thats not being used right now its a 20 gal. I dont think they need that much room though. So i dont know if i would have to put a lot of water in it or not or doing that.

you really don't need that much space (but hey, its an empty tank, you really shouldn't let a perfectlylovely 20 gal just sit empty, think of all the fish that could be happily swimming in that  ). just some aeration i'd think. theyre pretty hardy little guys

Well i got a 180 gal, 30 gal, and a 20 gal. The 20 is empty cause of the fish that where in there got ick and most ended up dieing. So i emptyed it and cleaned it out and having done anything with it yet. Dont even know if i will or not.

yeah just throw em in your 20 with a couple of plants and aeration and plenty of food and as long as they're not apple snails or such like that are sexed they'll flourish . no real need to filtrate just do water changes. I have the same setup but in a smaller tank just for breeding snails for my Mbu.

Also just a note.. don't give the puffers snails that are small enough that they can swallow as the shells cannot be digested properly and will build up inside the puffers and cause all sorts of probs..

good luck with the snail project
