Snails ...

I'm thinking od getting a snail for my tank ... I'm thinking it will be something a bit different and will help munch some algae buildup ... please take a look at my stock and set up and I would be pleased if someone could advise me on snail type etc?

I don't see anything that bad. Keep in mind if your PH drops below 6.5 though snails shell's dissolve, leading them to essentially die a slow death over several months.

not a good idea your barbs will nip at them i had some before and this happend to me so its not a good idea

How's about trying ottos?

Get a medium sized swarm of them...no more algae...ever, lol.

if you can get some good sized amano shrimp (japonica, algae-eating) they'll eat algae on plants and drift wood.
I like the swarm of otos idea though =)
