Snails

Not sure if this is an emergency but, last night we discovered a snail in the tank and this morning 2 more. What we cant understand is.........where they are coming from and will they harm the fish.

Hi there, if these snails are small and brown, their eggs are on the live plants you buy at the lfs. They seems to multiply quite quickly, I have kept them in check with loaches, they like to eat snails. The snails do not harm the fish, but may eat your plants.

Thank you for your reply and help, I have gutted the tank and scrubbed the plastic plants and have disposed of the live plant, so heres hoping
