Snails

I bought some plants recently which had very small snails on them. Ive seen some threads on here about getting rid of snails with bleach etc.... Is this really necessary? will the snails do any damage to the tank or fish?? are they considered pests??

Some people like snails, some don't! It's upto you if you like them or not! If you over feed your fish you will get a population boom and your tank will soon have loads of snails and in some extreme cases the only way to get rid of them is to completely empty the tank and clean everything thoroughly!
