I have 3 Tanks with snails in it.

2 Of the tanks are Tropical tanks and the Snails do a great job of eating the Alage.

The third tanks has one Mystery Snail and a Trapdor Snail. it also is a Coldwater tank with a Comet Goldfish. The 2 Snails are not touching the Alage. Do you think it has anything to do with it being a Coldwater tank?

If by mystery snail you mean apple snail, they don't belong in a cold-water tank, as they come from tropical South America. Move him to one of your other tanks.

Trapdoor snails are from Japan though, and should be doing fine in that tank. I don't have personal experience with them, but I'm scratching my head here.

You may want to try a pond. Don't add any snails toit, just look for already existing snails in the pond. Be sure you have permission to go to the pond.

Don't know the answer to why they won't touch the algae but could it possibly to do with the type of algae that's in your cold tank is not the type the snails like??

It's the same Alage thats in my 29g. I have 3 Mystery Snails in my 29g and they have almost licked the tank clean. Once I saw the Trapdor snail on the back wall clean a spot, but that was only once and I have had the Trapdor and Mystery in the tank a month. Also have 2 Mystery Snails in one of my 20g and they also eat the Alge. It's the Dark Brown Alge.
