Will my Dwarf Puffers eat mystery snails, Or can they live together?

No they can't live together, they will eat the snails. Also from what I'v heard the shell of mystry snails is too hard so there's a tendancy that DPs will damage their teeth trying to eat them, although I'm not 100% sure of this, may be someone else can verify this? This is why you shouldn't give mystry snails as food for DPs. As for whether they could live together, as I said, the answer is no.

I don't think this is true, I have read on another form that it is false. Why couldn't they live together? If the snails are big enough I don't see a problem. Plus they make babies like crazy, plenty of tasty treats for the dps.

It would depend on the snail. The tentacles on apple snails will be nipped constantly, leading to infection and then the death of the snail, so that wouldn't work. Same for Colombian ramshorns. Small pond snails will simply be eaten. Nerite snails, on the other hand, are well-nigh indestructible for their size, and should be fine. The downside here is that some varieties are definitely brackish water snails and have only a limited lifespan in freshwater aquaria. Malayan livebearing snails would also do well, being very heavily armoured and largely nocturnal, hiding from the puffers during the day. While dwarf puffers might eat the tiny baby Malayan livebearers, that's about all the harm they could cause.

Cheers, Neale

Puffers in general even my baby Fig8's which were tiny when i got them had to have a nip at everythign just to see if it was edible, so i wouldnt hold much hope for the Apple snail feelers and tenticles etc
