snails and plants

This might be an easy question but I don't know alot about snails but can I keep a empty tank with snails and maybe a piece of driftwood and not have plants? If I feed them algae tablets and such will they have enough food?

That would be fine for snails. Just make sure you run a filter as they require the same basic care as fish do. They're also more sensitive to ammonia and nitrite poisoning but without fish, this will be less of a problem.
