i gots a very small snail in one of my tanks. Should i leave it in there or take it out

Keep 'em :p When there are too many put a piece of cucumber in your tank over-night and collect the gathered snails in the morning and discard.
However, this is your one chance to get rid of the snail - if you leave this one to reproduce you'll never be able to rid your tank of snails...
I think they're cute though. :D ... and they do an excellent job on algae. :)

I've probably had my plants for a month now and only have one snail. I had two but now I can only find one, and only once in a while. Usually he's pretty well hidden. I suppose the other one is in there somewhere. I was hoping they would multiply so I could put some in other tanks but so far no new snails.

I suppose you got some weird snails then... No seriously, they probably aren't the usual water species as those reproduce like crazy!

How do they clean your walls if they are in your tank?

All I know is that they hitched a ride on my plants. That's when they showed up and before that all of the stuff was direct from the lfs or walmart. I did take the one snail that I could find out of the big tank and put it in the betta tank tonight. I wonder if I can get more like him at the lfs.

I read something on the net i think about some snails being bad for the fish in large numbers because they release some type of toxin into the water. This is only one kind of snail and i dont know which one without finding that website again.

The snails i have in my tank are the ones that are rolled up in a coil not the typical ramshorn shape. im thinking the ones i have are the bad ones. anyone confirm this or correct me ??
