Snail Questions

HI, I recently bought a mystery snail and was wondering about some things. First, how can you tell of they are dead? I know mine is alive but for future references it would be nice to know. I was also wondering how they breed. I really do not want baby snails and need to know if I will have a problem with just one snail. Thanks for your help!

As long as your snail will pull inside it's shell and close it's door when disturbed, it is alive. Dead snails are unresponsive.

You don't have to worry about your snail reproducing. It takes two of them to breed. Even if you had two, since they lay their eggs in big clutches, above the waterline, they can be easily removed before hatching.
