Snail or wot?

I would like to get a small algea eating snail? Have 20g tank.

What do you think?

Never had much to do with snails before.

Here you go.
They may look ugly but they do the trick. They are called apple snails. They can be bought from £1.00 to £1.50 from your lfs (local fish store)
I would not advise you buying these from ebay (dodgy dealers) But to get from your lfs is quite fine. Dont get clown loaches as they will eat the snails.

They only risk you run is that you will get plant eaters. If you have live plants you will need to ensure you get Bridgesii's as they are the only ones that wont eat your plants.

If you can hang on a month, we have some small Bridgesii's that will need rehoming when they are big enough.

One other point is the fact that they dont eat all that much algae.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I like snails in my tanks, but you won't notice much difference if you have algae problems.
