What are the smallest loaches that DEFINITELY WILL EAT the little round brown snails in my tank? and how many should I get in the group? Any other ideas because its a loosing battle trying to syphon them out and they are driving me MAD....

Yoyo loaches are great at eating snails, I put 2 in my tank about a month ago and there are no snails left

Are they ramshorn snails ?

I had the small ramshorn in my tank and my Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki (Dwarf Loach / Chain Loach) took great care of them.
Probably the smallest of the loaches you'll find (though they can be a little on the expensive side) :good:
But they really should be kept in groups of 4+ though they only reach approx 2" each.

YoYo's can grow up to 8"

Botia rostrata are IMHO better than dwarf loaches at eating snails.

Starve them out. Reduce the food so that there are no left overs, and they will decrease in numbers.

I like my queens (botia dario), botia straita, and clowns. I don't see that they make much of a dent in my Malysian Trumpets, though.

The first 2 stay smaller and the straita seem so far to be the smallest good natured snail eating loach in my aquaruiums.
